Eligibility for AIOU Jobs 2026
Eligibility is determined under HEC criteria and the university’s own rules, including the AIOU Recruitment and Promotion Rules 2022 and its Internal Assessment Framework.
Lecturer applicants need the relevant subject degree at the level the HEC criteria require for BPS-18. Associate Professor applicants need the higher qualification and the research, publication and supervision record that BPS-20 requires, including details of conference papers, research grants and students supervised at MPhil and PhD level.
Applicants already working in government, semi-government or autonomous bodies, including AIOU itself, must apply through the proper channel and submit a no-objection certificate and service certificate by the due date, or the application will be treated as incomplete.

- Download the prescribed bank challan form from the portal and pay the processing fee: Rs 1,500 for a BPS-18 post or Rs 5,000 for a BPS-20 post.
- Submit the online application before 30 November 2026, and keep a copy of the submitted form.
- If you applied for an Associate Professor post, you must then send the hard-copy dossier: 4 bound sets plus 1 soft copy on CD or USB in PDF format, with attested copies of academic documents, research articles, conference and supervision details, and the paid original bank challan, so that they reach the Registrar on or before the cutoff date.
- Note that without the online application, the hard and soft copies will not be entertained, and the hard-copy submission is mandatory for Associate Professor applicants after the online step.
